July has the Sun in Cancer for the greater part of the month. So this is Cancer’s month. People with the Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Cancer are loyal and protectors of the ones they care for. Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The Moon moves faster than any other planet and changes it’s appearance many times during a month’s time. Cancer moods can change as often as the Moon. Cancer is the crab with its protective shell. It is soft on the inside and hard on the outside. Friends and loved ones have been exposed to and know the soft side. To those who are unknown or mistrusted Cancer can be silent and closed. But once you get a Cancer to open up, here it all comes. Those claws are made to hold on and not let go.

Retrograde Planets

Jupiter is still retrograde and goes from 18 to 14 degrees Capricorn by the end of the month. Uranus will stay at 22 degrees of Pisces all month. It will not start moving forward until November 27, 2008 at 18 Pisces. Neptune started its backward motion on May 26th. It will remain at 23 degrees Aquarius all month. Pluto is at 29 degrees of Sagittarius and will move to 28 before this month is over. Pluto will continue in retrograde until September the 8th.

July 1st’s Mars Leo trine Pluto Sagittarius lends positive influence to the ability to go deeper mentally and emotionally. Is there something you need to find? This energy could also be helpful in the seeking and acquiring of something you desire. On the 2nd, Venus Cancer opposite Jupiter Capricorn could have individuals feeling at odds with authority and superiors. The 2nd also has the New Moon in Cancer at 11 degrees. Did you know that the Full and New Moons of each month can also be used for predictions? Saturday the 5th’s Mercury in Gemini square to Uranus Pisces can make things unpredictable. It would be best to put off important decisions until next week if possible.

The week of the 6th, Mercury Gemini trine Neptune Aquarius heightens imagination, creativity, and makes it easier to generate ideas. Venus Cancer trine Uranus Pisces heightens the desire for independence, wanting to get away from routine, and more attracted to the unusual. By mid week Sun Cancer oppose Jupiter Capricorn makes this a bad time to start new projects. With Mercury Gemini oppose Pluto Sagittarius others could seem secretive. Mars Virgo conjunct Saturn makes things easier by enhancing ability to stick to the task at hand. Mercury goes into the emotional sign of Cancer on the 10th. On the 12th, Venus moves into the sign of the Lion.

On Monday the14th, Mercury Cancer sextile Saturn Virgo enhances mental ability. This can make it easier to notice and take care of details. Sun Cancer trine Uranus Pisces strengthens desire to break with routine and try something new. You may also notice that insights come more easily. Mercury Cancer sextile Mars Virgo can sharpen the mind, give insight into emotions, and make it easy to talk about feelings. Friday, we have the Full Moon at 26 degrees Capricorn. Mercury Cancer oppose Jupiter Capricorn brings out our desire to question authority.

The Sun goes into Leo on the 22nd. Mercury Cancer trine Uranus Pisces enhances insight and makes it easier to write and communicate. On the 26th, Mercury joins the Sun in the constellation of Leo. Mars Virgo trine Jupiter Capricorn heightens desire to be assertive. This combination of Mars and Jupiter is very positive for communication with superiors.

Tuesday the 29th has Mercury in Leo conjunct Sun. One may find that people are more talkative. This joining of Mercury and the Sun also helps with generation of new ideas.
