Astrology - Astro means stars or heavens - logy relates to logic or knowledge of the stars. When you refer to your Astrological sign it is referring to the Sun's placement at the time of your birth. (If you are Leo - the Sun was in the sign of Leo when you were born.) As the planets revolve around the Sun, they are passing through the Zodiac. The Zodiac is a circle of constellations that we can see in the sky from the earth. The word Zodiac is taken from a term Greek meaning a circle of animals -- Zoo (animals) and Diac or Dial (circle). (Note: Many of the Astrological signs or constellations represent animals). At any given time and date, each of the planets appear to be passing through the different constellations or signs. So we can say that each planet is in a specific sign. The sign that it will be in, depends on the date and time. Planets move at different speeds compared to the Sun, so they may not be in the same sign as the Sun or the other planets.
Channeling - The practice of connecting with the energy of guides, angels, your higher self is referred to as channeling. It is like tuning into a higher wavelength. The information from the spirit or guides is received by the channel as words, pictures, and/or a strong feeling of knowingness. Mediumship is like channeling but Mediums usually connect with people who have died. Many people who channel also work as Mediums.

Chart - Once your time of birth is known, your chart can be drawn. This means that the signs for each planet are gotten and plotted on a circular chart made up of twelve areas or sections. The sections of the chart are called houses. The chart starts on the left hand side, at the horizontal line. See diagram - the line between the number 12 and the number 1. That line marks the minute you were born. The sign that was Ascending or coming up will be placed on this line. It is called your Rising sign or Ascendant. Because the Ascendant changes approximately every two hours, it is very important to have your exact time of birth. (Estimated times should be used only if time is unknown).
The Zodiac sign on the Ascendant (also called Rising sign) tell about the personality that you show to the world, or how other people see you. Using your month, date, year, time and place of birth, your Horoscope chart can be calculated. The birth time is used to calculate your Ascendant. The Ascending sign is then placed on the wheel, all other signs are filled in, in order around the wheel. (The exact degree of each sign is calculated ahead of time.)
Once the signs are filled in around the outer part of the wheel chart, the positions of each of the planets on the day and time of your birth are gotten from a book called an "Ephemeris". (The planets places for many years past and many years forward are documented in the Ephemeris.) The planets are placed in the correct position by matching the sign of the planet with the sign in the house in your chart.
Divination - A reading is created from the energy of the a person at the time of the reading. Most divination systems work in the same way. Examples are Tarot cards , Runes, and the I-CHING. These methods all use symbols that are selected randomly to create the reading.
Horosope - When you have a Horoscope cast for the date and time of your birth, all the planets will most likely be in a few or even many different areas in the Zodiac or signs. The word Horoscope is made up of the words Horo(hour) and Scope(as in to see, or to look at). The Horoscope chart is like a picture of the sky when you were born. Horoscope is also used to refer to the daily, weekly, or monthly listings of predictions for each Sun sign that you see in newspapers, magazines and on this site.

Numerology - The letters in names and words are equated to numbers by assigning each letter a number from one to nine. When the ninth number is reached the next letter starts back at the beginning and is assigned the number one, and so on.

When each letter in the word or name has been assigned a number the numbers are added up.

The result is a single number. Each number has a vibration or meaning. Each number from one to nine has a specific meaning. Birth dates and other significant numbers like addresses, can be added up and reduced down to a single digit and used to get a meaning as well. Numerology can be used to find out about an individual=s personality, gifts, future, past, and even compatibility with a loved one.
